Description

This romantic Antebellum Inn has stood majestically for over 145 years in Historic Vicksburg, Mississippi and is one of the finest examples of Palladian Architecture in the state. Built in 1856 as a wedding gift by businessman Duff Green, the mansion was designed for entertaining and was well known for the many lavish parties that set the standard for hospitality and good taste. The Green family offered the mansion for use as a hospital in 1863, after being hit at least five times by Union cannonball. The mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been recognized by the Department of the Interior and the Smithsonian Institution. The Duff Green Mansion has been completely restored and is beautifully and comfortably furnished.
